According to CBS Chicago, Nijinsky Latassia Dix,37, of Jacksonville, Florida was arrested and charged with second-degree murder while armed, possession of unregistered ammunition, and possession of an unregistered firearm. On Saturday, Metropolitan Police officers responded to a call around 5:26 p.m. about a shooting and entered the victim’s apartment. The victim was identified as 44-year-old Terry Hickman.
Court documents reported Dix complied with police when they found her kneeling by Hickman’s body and noticed she was holding a handgun but dropped it after officers told her to let it go. During the police interview, Dix told investigators that Hickman pushed her which led up to the shooting.

Dix underwent a medical examination where a doctor said she had a minor cut under her lip and didn’t show any signs of trauma. However, she told the physician that she “blacked out” during the shooting and lost her memory. Witnesses said they saw Dix with Hickman at the apartment complex parking lot and on a balcony. One witness said Dix was allegedly stalking the victim and somehow found out about his address after their breakup.
“The woman was stalking the decedent and that she was from out of state but somehow found out where he resided,”
Dix’s workplace, The University of Notre Dame, said in a statement that they are well aware of her arrest and is cooperating with law enforcement.
