Charlamagne Tha God was recently a guest on The View and was asked about Diddy’s sexual misconduct allegations and also took the time to address 2016 video of the mogul assaulting his former girlfriend Cassie in a hotel.

While speaking on the topic the Breakfast Club co-host said people should prioritize raising awareness on topics such as domestic violence and patriarchy systems instead of getting caught up in discussions about celebrities like Diddy, as he believes this detracts attention from the victims. “The issue is domestic violence. The issue is exactly what I said about men not going to do the proper work on themselves and they’re dealing with a lot of pain and a lot of hurt and a lot of unhealed trauma,” he said.

“And they’re projecting that pain and that hurt onto other people. The issue is patriarchy, right. As long as you have a system where men feel superior to women and they’re dealing with that pain and they’re dealing with that hurt, we’re going to continue to project that onto our women.” Charlamagne continued: “But right now as I’m talking, there’s a woman out there getting beat up by a man and she’s not going to get [any] news coverage. Nobody’s going to talk about her.”

After CNN released footage last week of Combs physically assaulting his then-girlfriend Cassie Ventura in a Los Angeles hotel hallway in 2016, Diddy issued an apology. The Bad Boy mogul expressed disgust at his behavior and deemed his actions as inexcusable.

“It’s so difficult to reflect on the darkest times in your life, but sometimes you got to do that,” Diddy said. “I was f—ed up. I mean, I hit rock bottom. But I make no excuses. My behavior on that video is inexcusable. I take full responsibility for my actions in that video. I’m disgusted. I was disgusted then when I did it, I’m disgusted now.”

He continued: “I went out and sought professional help. Had to go into therapy, into rehab. Had to ask God for his mercy and grace. I’m so sorry. But I’m committed to being a better man each and every day. I’m not asking for forgiveness. I’m truly sorry.”

In more recent news, once again, Sean “Diddy” Combs is currently facing another serious allegation. The mogul has been accused of allegedly sexually assaulting and drugging former model Crystal McKinney in 2003.
