Caution Raised As 23 People Die After Receiving Pfizer COVID-19 Vaccine

Caution has officially been raised as 23 people die in Norway within days of receiving their first dose of the Pfizer COVID-19 Vaccine. 13 of those deaths, which were all nursing home patients at least 80-years-old, were related to the side effects from the shots.

Chief physician at the Norwegian Medicines Agency Sigurd Hortemo says common reactions to the vaccine include fever and nausea, and “may have contributed to a fatal outcome in some frail patients.”

Furthermore, the news of fatalities arrives just over a week after officials confirmed the deaths of two nursing home residents after they too received their first Pfizer shots. Currently, over 30,000 people in Norway have received a dose of either the Pfizer or Moderna coronavirus vaccine since late last month.

Also, Norwegian Medicines Agency’s medical director Steinar Madsen says, “We are not alarmed by this. It is quite clear that these vaccines have very little risk, with a small exception for the frailest patients. Doctors must now carefully consider who should be vaccinated. Those who are very frail and at the very end of life can be vaccinated after an individual assessment.”
