Robert Pattinson Tests Positive For Coronavirus, Halting Production Of ‘Batman’

Just hours after actor Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson revealed that he has tested positive for COVID 19, it’s been shared that another Hollywood star has also contracted the virus.

According to The New York Times, citing two people with knowledge of the production of “The Batman,” the film’s star Robert Pattinson has tested positive for the coronavirus. As the news site notes, production has been shut down once again after receiving being made aware of his results.

In a statement on Thursday, Warner Bros. confirmed that filming was “temporarily paused” and that “a member of ‘The Batman’ production has tested positive for Covid-19, and is isolating in accordance with established protocols.” At first, Warner Bros. declined to comment beyond the statement issued. However, Vanity Fair confirmed the news on Thursday.

Chadwick Boseman’s Costar Clarke Peters ‘Regrets’ Judging Him On Set

While appearing on “Good Morning Britain,” actor Clarke Peters spoke about the passing of his former costar Chadwick Boseman. Peters recalled his first impressions of Boseman on the set of Spike Lee’s acclaimed Netflix movie, “Da 5 Bloods,” which was filmed in Thailand.

“I have to say with a little bit of regret that I probably wasn’t the most altruistic in that environment, but hindsight teaches us a lot of things,” Peters said. “What I’m addressing is basically, my wife asked what Chadwick was like. I was really excited to work with him. I said, ‘I think he’s a little bit precious.’ And she said, ‘Why?’ And I said, ‘Because he’s surrounded by people who are fawning over him.’” Peters went on to explain, “He has a Chinese practitioner, who is massaging his back when he walks off set. He has a makeup lady massaging his feet. His girlfriend is there holding his hand,” Peters said. “And I’m thinking maybe the Black Panther thing went to his head.”

At the time, Peters wasn’t aware that Boseman had been suffering from colon cancer, but realized his health struggles after he died on August 28, 2020. “I regret even having those thoughts because they were really looking after him,” he said while holding back tears.

Director Spike Lee also released a statement on the passing of the beloved star. He said,

“We filmed Da 5 Bloods in Thailand, and it was hot, jungles, mountains, and Chadwick was there with us all the way. I never, ever suspected that anything was wrong. No one knew he was going through treatment, chemotherapy,” Lee shared. He added, “A trooper. He never complained. He was there every single minute, in the moment, and his performance is testament to what he put into that role and all his roles.”

Black Man Dies Of Suffocation After Officers Put Hood Over His Head

Video of the police-involved incident that occurred back in March has been released to the public. It shows the horrific moment cops in Rochester, New York place a hood over an unarmed black man’s head while trying to detain him.

The Hill reports that police detained Daniel Prude, 41, in mid-March after he ran naked through the streets. Records that were also released Wednesday revealed that cops placed the hood over his head and pressed his face into the pavement for two minutes. Apparently, it was a “spit hood,” intended to prevent them from coming in contact with a suspect’s saliva, on his head. However, in the video, Prude asked that they remove the hood but officers then slammed his head into the pavement while one held his head against the street with both hands. After he stopped moving, one officer says, “He feels pretty cold.” He died a week later, on March 30, after being taken off life support, The Associated Press reported.

“How did you see him and not directly say, ‘The man is defenseless, buck naked on the ground. He’s cuffed up already. Come on.’ How many more brothers gotta die for society to understand that this needs to stop?” Prude’s brother Joe Prude said Wednesday. The family for Prude and local activists are demanding the officers be fired and charged in his death.

The office of New York Attorney General (AG) Letitia James (D) began a probe into Prude’s death in April. One of the officers has claimed they hooded Prude because he had repeatedly spat in their direction and they were concerned about the coronavirus, The Hill notes.

“I want everyone to understand that at no point in time did we feel that this was something that we wanted not to disclose,” Rochester Mayor Lovely Warren (D) said at the press briefing. “We are precluded from getting involved in it until that agency [the AG’s office] has completed their investigation.”
