As previously reported, Cardi and Hennessy were sued by three people after an incident in the Hamptons in September 2020. Hennessy and her friends were at a beach in South Point where they were approached by three people, one of them was wearing a MAGA hat, as per TMZ. The lawsuit claimed Hennessy spit on one of them and participated in threatening behavior by spitting on one of them and calling the trio “racist, MAGA supporters.” They claimed the term “racist” was used in a defamatory manner. The trio sued Hennessy and Cardi for defamation, assault, and battery after the video went viral on social media.

Earlier today, a New York trial judge dismissed the cases and said the insults used during the encounter were generalized and didn’t meet the level of defamation. As for the assault, the judge also said even if spit came out of Hennessy’s mouth, there was no proof that she intended to target any of the plaintiffs.
