Candace Owens Claims Donald Trump Is Pro-Vaxx Because He’s “Old” And Does Not Understand The Internet
Controversial commentator Candace Owens recently sat down with former President Donald Trump where they discussed many topics including the COVID-19 vaccines.
As we previously reported, Trump told Candace Owens in an interview last week that vaccines protect people and won’t kill anyone. He was hitting back at suggestions that the vaccines are harmful or ineffective, saying that vaccinated people who got breakthrough infections had a mild illness: “The ones who get very sick and go to the hospital are the ones that don’t take the vaccine,” he said. “People aren’t dying when they take the vaccine,” he told Owens.
In response to being corrected, Owens, who is anti-vax, told Instagram followers that Trump was backing the COVID-19 vaccine simply because he is “old.” She said, “People oftentimes forget, like, how old Trump is,” she explained in an Instagram video posted Thursday. “Like they came from a time before TV, before internet, before being able to conduct their independent research.”
She went on to claim that trump only reads mainstream media and doesn’t try to find alternative sources of information, which is why he supports it:
“Believe it or not, I do not believe that Trump reads or partakes in any other news sources,” she said. “I don’t believe that Trump is on the internet or that he necessarily uses the web to try to find obscure websites. I think that he just relies on typical mainstream sources. So, I don’t think that there’s anything evil going on there.”
“But he needs to have a larger conversation to really understand what’s going on and why so many people are just horrified,” she added.
