Caitlyn Jenner Hired As Fox News Contributor And Commentator
If you wonder why Caitlyn Jenner is trending, it’s because Fox News Channel announced that it has hired the former reality star as a contributor.
“Caitlyn’s story is an inspiration to us all,” said Suzanne Scott, Fox News Media CEO. “She is a trailblazer in the LGBTQ+ community, and her illustrious career spans a variety of fields that will be a tremendous asset for our audience.”
The former Olympic gold medalist ran an campaign for California governor last year, which unfortunately was unsuccessful. During her run, she even appeared on Fox News a few times. The network said Jenner, 72, will offer commentary and analysis across various Fox News Media platforms. Speaking about her new job, Jenner said in a statement “I am humbled by this unique opportunity to speak directly to Fox News Media’s millions of viewers about a range of issues that are important to the American people.”
Her first segment on was on Thursday where she already made some controversial remarks. She stated “I am trans but I’m not a trans activist. That’s just one part of my life.” The former Olympian was in the middle of discussing her intentions in joining the network and what point of view she hopes to bring to Fox viewers when she made those comments:
“America has to have a stand up mentality,” she said. “Yes, I have done a lot in my life going all the way back to the Olympics. We had a lot of talks actually, even with you, Sean, and other people at Fox when we were negotiating this deal. As you know, I am trans but I’m not a trans activist. That’s just one part of my life. There’s so much more to me. But I think in the next in the midterms coming up, LGBT issues are going to be very big issues, and I’m looking forward to covering those. But there’s so much more to me than that, obviously.”
