Buck & A Bit: Dollar Tree Bumps Up Prices To $1.25
Dollar tree is coming for its coins and will no longer be offering items for $1!
The chain announced that it is starting to increase prices to $1.25 for most of the items in stores.
In a statement released Tuesday, Dollar Tree said the new price is not “a reaction to short-term or transitory market conditions.”
“Lifting the one-dollar constraint represents a monumental step for our organization and we are enthusiastic about the opportunity to meaningfully improve our shoppers’ experience and unlock value for our stakeholders,” said Dollar Tree president and CEO Michael Witynski.
This does pose the question, will the store still be called Dollar Tree, or are we switching to ‘Buck & A Bit,” can’t be false advertising after all!
Users on social media weren’t here for the increase, placing the blame on greed.
Whew, @DollarTree. #FactsMatter https://t.co/b0Xfy0XCQd

The company believes that this new change will allow them to bring back some more high quality items. In addition, back in September, Dollar Tree revealed that it was testing products with prices above $1, as well as Dollar Tree Plus stores with prices at $3 and $5.
Yet @DollarTree is raising their prices for their cheaply made garbage. Welcome to America. (They donate to republicans too fyi.) https://t.co/YkL2O1tiek
