Renner grew up in Ocean Springs, Mississippi and she said the area was a predominately white small town. Additionally, the influencer and model was raised by her grandparents at the age of 9 after her grandmother felt that her mother was not stable enough to take care of her and her siblings. Although she felt that her home life was very stable, Renner noted that her grandparents were extremely strict and smothering which led her to rebel against their rules. “So I felt like for me, not having that freedom to be who I am caused me to rebel.  [I was] sneaking out, drinking vodka with friends, TPing houses, dumb sh*t,” she told DJ Vlad.

She continued to talk about her relationship with her parents and revealed she goes to therapy now due to mommy and daddy issues cause they were absent during her childhood. “For a long time, I struggled with both and I think it’s something you still work through. And it’s not something you completely heal from as with all trauma.” Renner explained.

In her book, Renner described her mother as someone who liked “black penis more than liking me,” and said her grandparents put the idea in her head that her mother didn’t want to be around her and her siblings.

“My mom read my book and she was like, ‘I didn’t know you felt that way and you’re entitled to feel how you feel’. And I think there were a lot of things that I said that were hurtful to her. But the reality of that is that I could only express myself based on the perspective I had back then.”
