Will Britney Spears Release Another Album After Being ‘Freed’ From Her Conservatorship?

It’s been six years since Britney Spears dropped her ninth studio album “Glory,” which featured the singles “Make Me” and “Slumber Party” with Tinashe. The record performed exceptionally well, peaking at No. 3 on Billboard’s Hot 200, while receiving generally favorable reviews from critics, including Entertainment Weekly, who gave it a B rating.

Two years after the album’s release, problems began to arise in the mother of two’s conservatorship, with her team allegedly insisting that she takes on a new residency in Las Vegas, called Britney: Domination. She later pulled out of the concert dates due to her father Jamie Spears’ health issues at the time, though it was later uncovered that the “Toxic” singer had actually been sent to a mental health facility during this period because she was allegedly not willing to cooperate to partake in the residency.

Britney has since come forward and said that the conservatorship she was under had abused her rights as a human being, stressing that she was determined to sue her family for “conservatorship abuse.” From alleged claims she could not visit her kids unless she agreed to do what she was told, to attesting she had limited access to social media and tech gadgets such as an iPad, there were several worrying signs that Britney may have been in deep trouble.

Not to mention how a New York Times article claimed the Mississippi native’s bedroom was monitored by her father Jamie, who allegedly had security record his daughter’s private conversations, while he was also believed to have had access to her iCloud. This would have consequently given him access to any text messages, internet browsing history, among other confidential data.

Does Britney Spears Want To Release New Music?

In March 2022, just months after her conservatorship arrangement was terminated, The Sun reported how Britney was keen on getting back in the studio to commence work on her 10th studio album. While she had previously said she was going to take an indefinite hiatus, it seemed as if those comments, made prior to her conservatorship ending, were only made to make it clear that Britney would no longer work until her father was completely out of her life.

Sources told The Sun that while she was still in her early days of putting music material together, the 40-year-old was keen on getting back in the studio and seeing what came out of those sessions. “It is very early days and Britney isn’t putting any pressure on herself to release an album right away or anything, but her team is putting feelers out about the prospect of new music,” they said.

“Several people who she feels comfortable working with have been contacted and asked if they would like to work on music with Britney again and everyone seems pretty keen to be involved. She has been through an incredibly tough few years but deep down she does love making music and performing so to have some new music out there could really help her turn over a new leaf.’

Britney’s conservatorship ended in November 2022.
