Socialites, get into this! Hunter Biden, the son of President Joe Biden, has been indicted on federal gun charges.

It happened this Thursday in Delaware federal court on three counts tied to the possession of a gun while using narcotics — two counts of making false statements by checking a box falsely saying he was not a user of or addicted to drugs and of illegally possessing the gun as a drug user. In addition to that, one count for possessing the gun as a drug user.

“Robert Hunter Biden, provided a written statement on Form 4473 certifying he was not an unlawful user of, and addicted to, any stimulant, narcotic drug, and any other controlled substance, when in fact, as he knew, that statement was false and fictitious,” the indictment said. As the Associated Press notes, two counts are punishable by up to 10 years in prison! The third carries up to five years in prison, upon conviction. David Weiss previously made it clear that he would pursue charges following the evaporation of a plea deal.

The July deal was for Hunter Biden plead guilty to two misdemeanor tax charges and register in a program that would avoid prosecution on a gun-related charge. However, this indictment does not list any tax crimes.

Clearly this is not a good time for this to be happening to the Biden family. The charges come the same week that House Republicans kicked off an impeachment inquiry into President Biden. They allege he improperly interfered in Ukraine to benefit his son when he served on the board of energy company Burisma. Despite their attempt, the White House has denied any wrongdoing. So far neither Hunter or the White House released a statement on this latest indictment.
