BREAKING: FBI Executes Search Warrant At Home Of Gabby Petito’s Fiancé A Day After Body Is Found

On Monday, FBI announced that it was executing a search warrant this morning at the home of Brian Laundrie — the man police say is a person of interest in the death of his fiancée, Gabby Petito. This comes just a day after a body believed to be Petito’s was found over the weekend at a Wyoming national park where the couple was visiting and where authorities had been investigating.

The bureau tweeted, “The #FBI is executing a court-authorized search warrant today at the Laundrie residence in North Port, FL relevant to the Gabrielle “Gabby” Petito investigation. No further details can be provided since this is an active and ongoing investigation.” It was noted by the CBS News crew that Laundrie’s parents were detained in an unmarked vehicle and then allowed to return inside as the search continued.

As we previously reported, Brian last week was named a person of interest in connection with his fiancée’s disappearance. However, police emphasized Friday that he is not wanted for a crime. Police in North Port, where the couple lived, and the FBI also said that they do not know where Brian is. Meanwhile, Petito’s family addressed his disappearance, saying through a family attorney: “All of Gabby’s family want the world to know that Brian is not missing, he is hiding. Gabby is missing.”

Charles Jones with the FBI’s field office in Denver confirmed the body recovered matched Petito’s description. However, a full forensic identification is pending. Officials have not yet determined a cause of death.
