On Saturday, 37-year-old Conchobar Morell entered the store around 9:30 p.m. and placed a weapon on the counter. According to CBS News, store manager Leo was closing for the night when Morell demanded all the money in the register. Leo complied for his daughter’s safety and offered to give Morell whatever he wanted. However, Morell began to move behind the counter, and Leo, the brave father, tackled him. As the fight unfolded, Leo’s daughter ran toward the two men, hitting Morell several times with a baseball bat.

Leo explained to the outlet that he didn’t realize his daughter had come to his aid until he looked at the surveillance footage the following day. “That day, I just wanted to cry. When I saw the video, I didn’t expect she would do that. I expected a little girl crying, screaming,” he said. Leo added that he asked his daughter what made her want to commit the courageous act. She said she wanted to protect her dad because she loved him.
