Federal probation officials in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of California are seeking to revoke rapper Boosie’s supervised release.

Boosie, whose legal name is Torrence Hatch, was previously convicted of being a felon in possession of a firearm and ammunition. He received a sentence of 10 days of time served and was ordered to complete three years of supervised release.

Supervised release permits offenders to reside in the community while under court-ordered supervision, but they must adhere to specific conditions set by the judge, or risk being sent back to prison.

According to probation supervisors, Boosie, 43, recently became involved in a criminal case in Texas, violating a key condition of his supervised release that prohibits him from incurring new charges.

Court documents reveal that in May 2026, a security guard was escorting a woman outside a nightclub in the Houston area when he was struck on the head with an object, resulting in blood dripping from his injury. The guard reported to investigators that he turned to find Boosie holding a broken hookah base, leading him to believe that Boosie had smashed it over his head. The injury required eight staples.

A second security guard also witnessed the incident, according to court records. Investigators noted that Boosie left the scene before they could interview him.

A warrant has since been issued for aggravated assault, and Boosie appeared in court in early June, where he was granted an $85,000 bond. He is scheduled to return to court for this charge in September 2026.

Probation officials in California have also stated that Boosie was in Houston without obtaining prior permission from the court. They allege that he was a headliner at Dome Nightclub without the necessary approval from his probation officer, which is a stipulated condition of his supervised release.

Additionally, drug test results indicated that Boosie tested positive for cannabinoids in January 2026, according to probation supervisors.
