Body Of Robert F. Kennedy’s Granddaughter Found, Search Continues For Her Son
Maryland police have recovered the body of Robert F. Kennedy’s granddaughter, Maeve Kennedy Townsend McKean, after she and her son went missing on Chesapeake Bay on April 2.
“After a days-long search that involved aviation and underwater imaging solar technology, authorities recovered missing person, Maeve Kennedy Townsend McKean, on April 6 at approximately 5:31 pm,” the Maryland Natural Resources Police said in a statement.
Authorities revealed that her body was found in 25 feet of water, just 2.5 miles from her mother’s house in Shady Side, Maryland. The search continues for her 8-year-old son Gideon.

As we reported, McKean’s husband, David, shared a Facebook explaining that they were “self-quarantining in an empty house” on the Chesapeake Bay, that belonged to Maeve’s mother. While Maeve and Gideon were playing kickball, the ball fell into the water and they simply went to retrieve it when the currents took them.
“They got into a canoe, intending simply to retrieve the ball, and somehow got pushed by wind or tide into the open bay. About 30 minutes later they were spotted by an onlooker from land, who saw them far out from shore, and called the police,” McKean wrote.
