UPDATE: Body Cam Footage Shows The Moment A 13-Year-Old Boy With Autism Yells ‘Tell My Mom I Love Her’ After Police Shooting

Earlier this month, we reported that 13-year-old Linden Cameron, who has autism, was shot by Salt Lake City police after his mother called for assistance during an episode, which was brought on by Asperger’s Syndrome. In newly released body cam footage, Cameron is seen having a breakdown, and later yelling out, “Tell my mom I love her,” after an intense police shooting.

Upon police arrival, officers attempted to control Cameron by ordering him to the ground; however, when he did not obey, officers began firing shots at the boy, at least eleven. Reportedly, Cameron’s mother told police that he was easily triggered by law enforcement, and may have a BB gun on him; which they responded by saying they’d need to treat his toy gun as if it were real.

Miraculously, Cameron survived the shooting, but left the scene in serious condition after being struck in his shoulder, colon, bladder, ankles, and intestines. During the video, Cameron is seen dropping to the ground, rolling in pain, causing him to tell his shooters, ‘I don’t feel good,” and, “Tell my mom I love her.” As Cameron recovers in the hospital, an independent investigation into the shooting carries on.
