In a report by CBS Miami, Williams, and his nephew. Nathan Myers was released last year after they were falsely convicted for the fatal shooting of Jeanette Williams and the attempted murder of Nina Marshall in Jacksonville. There was no physical evidence to prove that both men were involved in the case and Marshall was the only witness who gave a testimony that did not match the investigators’ evidence.
Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis is in the process to approve a bill to ensure Williams and Myers will receive $2 million although Myers is eligible to receive the money from the state’s revenue. Williams is ineligible because he was convicted of two unrelated felonies but the new law will ensure he will receive his money.
