Barbra Streisand Gifts Disney Stock to George Floyd’s Daughter

A number of celebrities have stepped up to help George Floyd’s family following his tragic death. As we previously reported, Floyd Mayweather covered the costs for George’s funerals while Kanye West provided financial support, and also launched a college fund for his 8-year-old daughter, Gianna Floyd.

Now, another Hollywood star has decided to help out. Singer and actress Barbra Streisand purchased a Disney stock for Gianna, making her an official shareholder. In an Instagram post on an account for the little girl, she can be seen proudly holding the share certificate. The caption read, “Thank You @barbrastreisand for my package, I am now a Disney Stockholder thanks to you.”

As of right now, it is not clear how many shares Streisand purchased for Gianna, whose father died in police custody last month, after a white Minneapolis police officer knelt on his neck for almost nine minutes.

Floyd’s death has sparked protests around the world, with demonstrators calling to end police brutality and to put an end to racial inequality.
