Barack & Michelle Obama Delivering Virtual Commencement To Class Of 2020

While they won’t get to walk across a stage with their cap and gown, and have their parents embarrassingly screaming their names, the class of 2020 is still winning as they’re set to receive a virtual commencement speech given by none other than former president Barack Obama, with wife Michelle Obama next to him hosting.

Via YouTube’s upcoming series of events, under its ‘Dear Class of 2020′ special, the Obamas are set to headline a virtual graduation ceremony, featuring notable figures like former Secretary of State Conoleezza Rice, LeBron James, the Jonas Brothers, Pharrell Williams, Lady GagaBTS, Alicia Keys, Kelly Rowland, Kerry Washington, Chloe x Halle, Zendaya, and a few YouTube stars.

Susanne Daniels, global head of content for YouTube, explains, “Graduation is a tradition that students and families look forward to and with the current state of the world, YouTube is lending some inspiration in the form of a virtual commencement. We hope bringing together noteworthy, influential speakers along with performances from some of their favorite artists will provide encouragement for the students who have worked so hard to get here.”

The first set of events begin on May 16, and the graduation ceremony on June 6. For more information, click here.
