Bad Bunny Canceled His AMA Performance After Testing Positive For Coronavirus

Fans were left anxious on Sunday as they were waiting to see Bad Bunny hit the stage at the 2020 American Music Awards. Bunny, was slated to close the AMAs with “Dakiti,” but had to cancel at the last minute.

Now, the singer did still participate in the show, remotely to reveal Becky G as the winner of Favorite Female Latin Artist. He also won the awards for Favorite Male Latin Artist and Favorite Latin Album (YHLQMDLG). However, at the time, it wasn’t clear why he didn’t show up for his set. Fans speculated that he might have caught the virus and had to quarantine instead, and it looks like they were right.

Fans have been sending Bunny messages wishing a speedy recovery. One Twitter user said, “Get we’ll soon.” Another added, “Bad bunny tested covid positive 🥺.. pls keep wearing your masks and distancing. Shouldnt take a celeb getting it for y’all to listen but pls pls pls. Especially bc break is coming up, test before and after going back home/other areas.”
