Anita Baker announced Tuesday that she was kicking Babyface off her tour after accusing his fans of bullying her online.
Baker made the announcement on Twitter saying, “After Silently, Enduring Cyber Bulling/Verbal Abuse & Threats of Violence from the Fan Base, of Our Special Guest❤️/Support Act. In the Interest of Personal Safety. I will continue, The Songstress Tour, alone. Appropriate refunds will be made. Blessings🎁”

In a new report by Variety, Babyface reportedly addressed the situation In a statement shared by his representative: “I am saddened by the news that Anita Baker has decided to remove me from ‘The Songstress Tour.’ It’s unfortunate and disheartening to see how things have played out via social media. While I was looking forward to the rest of the dates, I have nothing but love & respect for Anita and I wish her the best for the remainder of her tour.”
As we previously reported, all of this drama started on May 10 when Babyface was set to appear on her tour and then tweeted out an apology to fans. “I am truly sorry to my fans who have been waiting for us to hit the stage this evening at @PruCenter,” his tweet read. “I was asked not to perform in order to give Ms. Baker her space and time to perform her show in its entirety. My band and I are extremely saddened we didn’t get to perform for y’all tonight.”
Baker delivered a long list of tweets explaining how his fans have been cyber bullying her.
“When A friend, is being attacked, by Your friends?…because, of Mis-information/fake news And, You have an Opportunity, to Say Something/Correct it? … It’s the Right thing to do,” she wrote, ending with “Reputation, Peace & Safety Matters.”

It’s a shame to see this happened. That would have been the best concert with both of them on it.
