Alicia Keys Says She Stopped Wearing Makeup Due To Addiction
Alicia Keys is becoming a little more candid about her decision to no longer wear makeup, adding that she became addicted. She is flawless with and without makeup!
“Makeup was a big thing for me; I had been wearing it since I was, like, 16 years old,” the “Girl on Fire” Keys, told Glamour UK.
“And then, as I got into the music world, it was what you did every day to do your television, or to do your shoot. So, I did it because I thought that’s what you’re supposed to do. And I realized I became addicted to it; I didn’t feel comfortable without it.”

“I swear it [was] the strongest, most empowered, most free, and most honestly beautiful that I have ever felt,” the Grammy winner wrote. “I don’t want to cover up anymore. Not my face, not my mind, not my soul, not my thoughts, not my dreams, not my struggles, not my emotional growth. Nothing.”
“I’m not a slave to makeup. I’m not a slave to not wearing makeup either. I get to choose at [any] given moment. That’s my right.”
