#Socialites, would you book any of these Pop Culture-themed Airbnb rentals including the floating house from ‘Up‘ or Prince‘s ‘Purple Rain‘ house in Minneapolis, Minnesota?
For its 2024 Summer Series, Airbnb has launched its “Icons” rentals list which currently features 11 properties based upon your favorite Pop Culture-themed houses and structures, like the flying house from the 2009 Disney-Pixar film ‘Up,’ which starting this week, users can book a stay at the floating home in Abiquiu, New Mexico.
The 40,000-pound house, which is a replica of the craftsman-style home featured in the film, will have 8,000 balloons attached to it and will be suspended 50 feet in the air, hanging from a crane. Ahead of the June 14 release of the Disney-Pixar film ‘Inside Out 2,’ another property featured is the Headquarters from the initial ‘Inside Out‘ film.
Brian Chesky, Airbnb co-founder and CEO said, “Icons take you inside worlds that only existed in your imagination—until now. As life becomes increasingly digital, we’re focused on bringing more magic into the real world. With Icons, we’ve created the most extraordinary experiences on Earth.”
Airbnb also says the new category of experiences will be “hosted by the greatest names in music, film, television, art, sports, and more.” So, for some of the properties, patrons will be able to take a VIP look inside Kevin Hart‘s members-only Coramino Live Lounge for an A-list evening. Or patrons can join a living room session with Doja Cat for a more intimate experience post-tour.
Reggaetonero Feid is also listed as a celebrity host that patrons can spend some time with. Thanks to Airbnb patrons will be able to join the Latin star on his ‘FERXXOCALIPSIS‘ World Tour for an entire week. Other celebrities include TikTok sensation Khaby Lame and Bollywood star Janhvi Kapoor.
Other Airbnb properties also include Prince’s ‘Purple Rain‘ house that he purchased in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Airbnb says the home has never been available to the public until now. Patrons can also book a stay in an X-Men-inspired house, which is a 2D animated re-creation of Marvel Animation’s X-Mansion in Westchester, New York, or a stay in the Paris art museum’s iconic clock room Musée d’Orsay. Another property listed is the Ferrari Museum in Maranello, Italy.
