Dayne Victor Miller, 44, was arrested at his home on Wednesday after admitting to police that he was shooting at two of his adult roommates through a closed bedroom door. Miller claimed he opened fire after discovering one of his daughters naked in her room. The roommate told police that he accidentally fell asleep while intoxicated in the girl’s room. After Miller’s daughter informed her father that the naked male victim had entered her bedroom while she was sleeping, another roommate, their spouse, informed them that they were in the wrong room.

According to the New York Post, Miller reportedly shouted, “I’ll kill you!” before firing three to four gunshots outside the couple’s closed bedroom door. Miller was charged with two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and one count of shooting into an occupied dwelling,

WSAZ 3 reported that the daughter told police that no crime had happened to her. Investigators did not disclose if any injuries occurred during the shooting, and Miller was quickly arrested and then taken to Lee County Jail.

After the story made its rounds on social media, some people took Miller’s side, while others said the drunk roommate made a mistake by entering his daughter’s bedroom.

A similar situation happened in New York City when a man stabbed his roommate for blasting loud music.

Last year, a Long Island man reportedly stabbed his roommate in the chest during an argument regarding loud music. Bellmore police said Frank Ligouri,61, confronted his 31-year-old roommate about the loud music, but the argument intensified, and Ligouri allegedly grabbed a knife and stabbed the roommate.

The roommate ran to a nearby 7-Eleven to find help, and officers reported to the scene; Ligouri was arrested on charges of assault in the second degree, assault in the third degree, and criminal possession of a weapon in the fourth degree, as reported by PIX 11. Emergency medics took the victim to a nearby hospital for treatment, but the severity of his injuries was not disclosed.
