Social media influencer Braden E. Peters, known online as “Clavicular” and associated with the “looksmaxxing” trend, is facing serious criminal charges in Massachusetts.
Prosecutors have charged the 20-year-old with rape and providing liquor to a person under the age of 21, following an investigation by the Chatham Police Department. According to a criminal complaint filed in Orleans District Court, the charges stem from an alleged incident in May 2025 at Peters’ parents’ home in Cape Cod. The alleged victim, who was 17 at the time, reported the assault to police on June 4, 2026.
In her statement to investigators, the victim alleged that she and Peters had been communicating via Instagram regarding “looksmaxxing” videos. She told police that Peters arranged for her to travel to his home, where he instructed her to lie about her age and claim that the alcohol she was consuming on a live stream was water. The victim alleged that after being given vodka and becoming intoxicated, she woke up to find Peters having sex with her without her consent.
If convicted, Peters faces up to 20 years in prison. Authorities noted in the complaint that they have been unable to reach Peters to discuss the allegations, and his publicist has not responded to requests for comment.
When reached by phone, Peters’ father declined to comment.
These charges follow a separate legal issue for Peters earlier this year. In May 2026, he pleaded no contest in Florida to unlawfully firing a firearm after allegedly shooting at an alligator during a live stream in the Everglades. He was sentenced to six months of probation and 20 hours of community service for that incident.
