City Girls alum JT is slamming criticism and defending her controversial comments from Easter Sunday. If you missed it, on Sunday afternoon (April 5), JT, born Jatavia Shakara Johnson, took to her TikTok account to show off her dinner.
In the clip, she said, “After they beat up Jesus, this is what he should’ve woke[n] up to. Thank you, Jesus for dying for us. This is the type of meal I got for you at my house.”
Viewers can then hear someone chuckling in the background. Over the video, JT wrote, “Thank you Jesus for dying for us! They did a lot. You deserve a big meal. 🩷🩷🩷.” In the caption of her video, she wrote, “Happy Easter! 🩷🩷🩷🩷🩷.”
JT Defends ‘Jesus Should’ve Woken Up To’ Her Resurrection Meal Commentary
Needless to say, JT caught tons of backlash over her controversial comments about Jesus on Resurrection Day. However, she remained unbothered and even shared another video on Easter. She put together photos of her celebrating the holiday.
On Monday (April 6), JT then addressed the criticism of her Easter Sunday comments. She shared a video, over which she wrote, “I’m seriously tired of fake outrage! Y’all must have not seen ‘Passion Of The Christ!’”
In her video, she continued to double down on her comments. She said:
“Okay, people are like *gasps* because I said, ‘This is what Jesus should have ate after they beat him up.’ Literally, Jesus did get beat up. He got crucified. They tore him up. If y’all saw ‘The Passion of the Christ,’ y’all wouldn’t even be questioning why I said that.
Growing up, I remember when ‘The Passion of the Christ‘ first dropped in the movie theaters. B*tch, the whole—everybody was blown away by that movie. That movie caused so much uproar. A lot of y’all just was born yesterday. Y’all don’t know it. See, when I was growing up I grew up down South, Baptist church, Christian.
I would always read about what happened to Jesus, but I would never like I never saw a visual. But, when I saw ‘The Passion of the Christ,’ I was like, ‘Oh my motherf***ing God. This is a real, like, he the realest on our team because he died. Like, he went through so much For our sins, for all of the stuff that y’all doing. He got tore up for it. Like, he really did. And if you hav any doubt in your mind, go watch ‘The Passion of the Christ.’ And y’all won’t even get it.
It’s no certain way to say anything. Like, crucified is worse than saying beat up. Crucified is like a more intense word. Like, ‘Jesus was crucified. Jesus was beat up.’ When I think about what happened to Jesus, It’s literally sad, for real. And I don’t think that he should have just had no thin bread and a little bit of wine. He should have had like macaroni and cheese, collard greens, rice, all of that. Big meal, and some tequila.”
JT Says ‘People Don’t Get Online And Talk Anymore Because They’re Scared’ Of Critics Constantly Bashing And Picking Apart Their Words
Before this clip, she posted another that shared the same theme. However, this one directly addressed other recent comments she made about the plot of Zendaya’s new film, ’The Drama.’ In response to the backlash from her criticism, she said:
“Y’all always asking, ‘Why people don’t get online and talk to y’all no more?’ Because they are f***ing scared. Like, a motherf***er could say, ‘The cow jumped over the moon,’ and y’all gonna say, ‘Why does she hate cows? She hates cows. Oh my God, we have to protect these— B*tch, I said, ‘The cow jumped over the moon. I never said I hate cows.’
Y’all have really scared the f**k out of people. Y’all have scared people so motherf***ing much to the point they rather not f***ing talk. They don’t even want to eat in front of y’all because they scared. Y’all know what y’all be doing. Stop asking why people are scared to post, scared to talk, scared to have an opinion, because y’all scare them. It’s simple.
Literally, I had an opinion on a movie and y’all have said, ‘Oh, what’s the hate about?’ Like, the majority gets there. The majority is laughing. But, it’s a small percentage of pea-brain b*tches who’s like, ‘I loved it. What? What do you mean? Like, I loved it.’ B*tch, I loved it, too. I just said it, to me, it was a little twisted. I’m a comedy girl. I love comedy.
My favorite director is John Singleton. I’m a Black girl from Miami. I was gonna say I’m a Black b*tch from Miami, Florida, but I’mma keep this professional. I’m a Black girl from Miami, Florida. My favorite movies are like, The Player’s Club,’ f***ing, ‘Baby Boy.’ You know, I keep it real simple. I just love my comfort movies. ‘Friday.’ Ice Cube one of my favorite directors. B*tch, so sometimes when I see a little sick twisted plot I be like, ‘Hold on. Slow down.’
Anyways, as my palette expands for movies. I’ve been like, ‘Okay, I’m gonna watch more movies. I’m gonna get into more directors, because you know, I’m interested. Sometimes I be a little blown away and then it’s always a b*tch on the corner waiting to try to get a b*tch. Like, you cannot get me because I don’t give a f**k. Okay? I don’t care. I’m literally in my ‘I don’t give a f**k era.’ If I think it I’mma say it.
And my thoughts are not twisted. So, it’s nothing I’m ever gonna say that’s gonna get me in trouble. You b*tches want to make everything a problem. That’s the problem and that’s why nobody talks anymore. Nobody posts, won’t even post their shoes. B*tch, tey’re scared of y’all because y’all gonna say, ‘Oh my God. You know that the person who made the shoes literally killed a mother—shut the f**k up.”
