A California man has been sentenced to more than six years in prison after authorities say a pattern of stalking escalated into a break-in and sexual assault.

According to The Independent, Christian Solorio was convicted of stalking and breaking into a residence with the intent to commit a sex act. The Stanislaus County District Attorney’s Office said Solorio first encountered the victim at her workplace in February 2025.

From there, the behavior reportedly intensified. Officials say he appeared at her job multiple times a day, waited outside for her, and repeatedly asked her out. He also allegedly sent her a letter expressing that he wanted to take her to Mexico.

Weeks of Harassment Led to Break-In

Authorities say the harassment continued for weeks, during which Solorio learned where the woman lived.

On May 21, 2025, investigators say he took things further. According to prosecutors, Solorio waited until the woman’s father left the home before breaking in. The victim later told authorities she woke up to find him in her room.

Officials say the situation quickly escalated into a sexual assault. Despite the circumstances, prosecutors noted that the victim remained calm and de-escalated the situation until help could be contacted.

Confession and Charges

Solorio later confessed to breaking into the home, according to the district attorney’s office. He ultimately pleaded no contest to stalking and first-degree burglary with intent to commit a sexual offense.

The case was prosecuted based on both the pattern of stalking behavior and the events that occurred inside the home.

Sentencing and Outcome

Solorio was sentenced to six years and eight months in state prison. Authorities have not released additional details about the victim, but confirmed that she was able to safely report the incident.

The investigation and prosecution were led by the Stanislaus County District Attorney’s Office.
