On-air reporter Kayla Nicole, who’s also the ex-girlfriend of Kansas City Chiefs football player Travis Kelce, is issuing a PSA to Black women, following weeks of being dragged into headlines over her ex-boyfriend’s new relationship with global pop star Taylor Swift.

As we know, Nicole and Kelce had an on-again, off-again, whirlwind romance that captivated social media for five years. They first began dating in 2017 and sadly they split in May 2022. Social media alleged that the two had parted ways after Kelce asked her to split bills, but they both would end up clearing the air.
Weeks after the split, Nicole responded to the headline about it, and claimed, “Not sure where y’all got this nonsense from, but it’s absurd and very false.” In January 2023, the record-breaking KC Chiefs tight end set the record straight during an interview with ‘The Pivot Podcast.’ During the conversation, Kelce said he was a free agent in the game of dating, “enjoying his life and focusing on his profession.”

Speaking on the rumors of him being “too cheap” to keep Nicole, he said, “How crazy is that? Don’t buy into that sh*t. I will never say that I was supporting her. She had a very financially stable life and what she was doing in her career. But you gotta be crazy to think that I’ve never helped give her a couple of dollars to grab some food, or she never gave me some dollars to grab some food. It’s absolutely ridiculous.”
Then in September 2023, he talked about rejoining Tinder on an episode of his and his brother’s podcast, ‘New Heights with Jason and Travis Kelce.’ Shortly after the episode aired, Kelce sparked dating rumors with Taylor Swift, who was spotted attending his Kansas City Chiefs game on September 24, then again on October 1.
As Kelce and Swift’s love life continues to be a topic of conversation in not only the gossip streets but also the NFL and ESPN streets, Kelce’s past girlfriends have also become a topic of conversation. Like Kelce’s ex-girlfriend Maya Benberry, who is most notable for being the winner of the NFL player’s 2016 dating show ‘Catching Kelce.’
Recently, Benberry has been making headlines after claiming she’s been receiving death threats from Swift’s fans upon calling out Kelce for allegedly cheating. Benberry claimed she “doesn’t hate Taylor nor is [she] bitter,” but wanted to give her the heads up.
Meanwhile, Travis Kelce’s most recent ex-girlfriend, Kayla Nicole, has also been dragged into headlines with some people claiming Kelce upgraded from her to Taylor Swift, along with other people feeling the opposite, claiming he downgraded with T-Swift.

Regardless of which way the headlines sway, Kayla Nicole is firing back at all of the criticism and comments with an open letter issued directly at Black women all over.
Taking to her Instagram on Monday (October 9), Nicole uploaded a nearly 4-minute clip reminding young Black women that although they are the most disrespected person on the planet, stand tall, remember their value, and keep their heads up.
