As we previously reported, two Black teachers claim they were fired from Kanye West’s Donda Academy after voicing alarming problems about students’ education, health, and more.
In an exclusive interview with TMZ, former instructor Cecilia Hailey shares what it was like working at Donda while also giving a warning to parents that their kids may be severely behind educationally.
Miss Hailey says kids were not getting graded at the uncredited school, so transferring could be a big problem. She goes on to note that one of the issues she had while teaching was that they missed out on Black History Month and didn’t learn about important topics like the Holocaust.
“When kids do leave to go to another public or private school, they are then tested. If they come in at third-grade level or fourth-grade level, and they’re in the sixth grade, they’re doing to go in the third grade.”

More On The Problems At The School
In a previous report by TMZ, Hailey and her daughter listed numerous problems with Donda, including a lack of chairs, locked front doors, and no nurses or lesson plans. She also stated that the lunch option available for students was sushi, and apparently, that was every single day!
In addition to that, they claim that parents were not are not allowed to bring their kids any outside food or drink, except for water. The suit notes that Kanye allegedly spent $10,000 a week on sushi.
Furthermore, the teachers claim Kanye’s classes couldn’t even take place on the second floor because Kanye is “afraid of stairs,” and Ye didn’t want children using forks or utensils. To make matters worse, they found it strange that Kanye did not allow crossword puzzles or coloring sheets at Donda Academy.
To add to all the wild rules, the teachers even say Kanye did not allow chairs and allegedly forced children to either sit on foam cushions or stand. Other teachers reportedly had to do the same or use a stool.
On top of alleging there was no actual lesson plan or proper disciplinary procedures which resulted in multiple instances of bullying and physical assaults against peers and teachers, the two teachers claim that they were shut down and threatened when they tried to share the alleged issues with the higher-ups.
As a result of all of this, the women say they were ultimately fired and they believe it’s it was retaliation and racial discrimination. They’re now suing Donda Academy and Kanye for money.
Although Kanye might not be involved with the school’s issues, he is named in the suit. Kanye has yet to share a public statement regarding these claims about his school and the lawsuit.
