An Arizona Wendy’s employee has been arrested after sucker punching an elderly customer who complained about their order.

The restaurant’s surveillance camera captured the moment Antoine Kendrick,35, shows when he brings the three drinks to the customer at the counter. Police said the man complained about the order, and the footage shows him licking one of the drinks while unaware that Kendrick is approaching him from behind. Seconds later, Kendrick punches the man in the head.

Prescott Valley police said the incident occurred on July 28, and the customer lost consciousness after the attack. He was listed in critical condition.

Investigators also said Kendrick grabbed his belongings and walked out of the restaurant without assisting the. However, it is unknown what caused the argument, and other customers agreed that the situation didn’t need to lead to someone getting hurt, as reported by New York Post. 

Kendrick was booked on one count of aggravated assault, and a statement was yet to be released by Wendy’s.

Social media reacts to the incident

After video footage of the incident leaked to social media, there were various opinions where people thought the attack was unnecessary while others believed the incident was provoked by the customer.

As we previously reported, a McDonald’s worker was fatally shot after arguing with a customer’s son over cold french fries. According to the female customer, she didn’t want her son to get involved in the argument, but he went to the restaurant to handle the situation.

“I don’t even know if my son did that. The only thing I know is that my son was arguing with the boy, and the boy did go out looking for my son. There was no reason for him to go outside looking for somebody. Whatever happened outside, you caused that to happen,”

He was later charged after Matthew Webb,23, died after his family took him off life support.
