Jason Derulo Links With His ‘Haitian Brother’ Kodak Black For Their ‘Song Of The Summer’ Called “Slidin'”

Singer Jason Derulo has partnered up with his “Haitian brother” and Florida rapper Kodak Black as they promise to give us the “song of the summer” with their new collaborative effort called “Slidin’.”

While the collab might not have been on ur bingo cards this year, the unlikely link up is a bop! The song officially dropped on Thursday night (May 19), and the internet has been feeling the new song.

On the track, Jason offers up his usual formula, including a melodic beat and catchy lyrics to easily get people up out of their seats and on their feet headed to the dance floor.

Kodak, fresh off of his feature on the Kendrick Lamartrack “Silent Hill,” actually slid pretty smoothly on the pop beat.

In addition to the upbeat tempo, the song arrives with a TikTok dance to accompany it — which is somewhat the norm now to boost streaming numbers and create an impact on all the music charts.

Jason Derulo Shows Of New Dance For His New Song “Slidin'”

Ahead of the track’s release, Jason posted a tutorial on his Instagram page, and other social platforms, showing off his new song’s routine. Adeptly, he captioned the post, “The new electric slide.”

The night before the song’s release, Jason posted another video, showing the behind the scenes of their music video. The two appeared in similar outfits, including a white tuxedo shirt, sleek black pants and black shoes.

Jason captioned the post, “Tomorrow with my zebra @kodakblack 🦓”

As Jason goes to introduce Kodak in the clip, by calling him, “My guy, my zoe, my Haitian brother.” Kodak jumps in and says, “My brother. He a Z. That’s my Z-Bra.”

Laughing with him, Jason continues, “Honestly, we had a great time today. And make sure you check out the song. The song …I promise you … it’s the song of the summer. It’s gonna stick in your head. It’s gonna make you wanna ‘Slide.'”

Now, at the moment, Jason has not yet revealed whether or not his new song “Slidin'” will be a standalone single or if it is a preview of what is to come via a new album. However, the song is surefire bop and we are going to keep on hitting repeat until he announces his next moves!
