Demi Lovato Declares ‘I’m Equally As Masculine As I Am Feminine’ As Pop Star Jokes About Becoming An ‘Aunkle’
While appearing on the Today Show, Demi Lovato opened about life after changing their pronouns to them/they in May, and joked that they one day hope to become an ‘aunkle.’

Demi who declared “I am equally as masculine as I am feminine” in the new interview also discussed how they are still adjusting to the new changes.
“The way that I explain being nonbinary to people, or gender non conforming, is for me personally – I can’t speak to everyone in their experience – when I came to the realization that I am equally as masculine as I am feminine,” the 29-year-old said. “My masculine and feminine energy are equal, so much so that I may be wearing a dress and heels right now, but I don’t identify as just a woman, or just a man, and I identify as both.” Demi also said that, when it comes to correcting others on their pronouns, they “have a lot of grace” and joked that they “still mess up sometimes” too: “Sometimes [I] say, ‘Oh, I can’t wait to be an aunt one day,’ and I’m like, ‘Wait, what word do I use?’ I think for that one we’re going to use ‘ankle.’”
During the sit-down, they also talked about identifying as pansexual: “I’m attracted to human beings, and it doesn’t matter what you identify as. I don’t hold myself back from sharing my love with anybody.”
