Alex Tuita,37, was a former client of a massage parlor at the Ashton Offices in Salt Lake City and was banned by its owner after he texted her messages that were deemed inappropriate along with creating a fake Instagram profile of the owner and threatened to fight her fiancee. On June 13, Tuita set the woman’s office building on fire which caused 20 other businesses to be destroyed as well.

Officers said he had a prior history of being obsessed with another message parlor owner in 2018 and she filed a civil stalking injunction against him. He confessed to investigators that he was obsessed with the woman and used a jar of gasoline plus a lighter to ignite the blaze.
