The lawsuit was originally filed in 2014 where Shantel Jackson accused him of physically assaulting her during their engagement and stealing $3 million worth of jewelry. Additionally, she claimed he posted her medical records on social media after she got an abortion and the lawsuit asked for an undisclosed amount of money. In response to the lawsuit, Mayweather countersued and said Jackson stole large amounts of money along with using his credit cards without his knowledge.

His countersuit also states that she allegedly recorded a conversation between herself and Mayweather without his consent. Jackson admitted to recording the conversations but she claims she did it to obtain evidence in relation to crimes of extortion and domestic violence. According to Radar Online, both parties have reached a settlement so the case can be closed after Jackson filed a notice to dismiss the lawsuit.
