The case was presented on Tuesday by the Suffolk County Coroner’s Court where it determined 17-year-old Megan Younger-Watson had cocaine, Ecstasy, and Xanax in her system when she died. On Feb. 15, 2019, the teen disclosed her rape to her friends and was found dead hours later at the Christchurch House hostel in Ipswich. Investigators reported that her alleged attacker was identified but Younger-Watson didn’t want to press charges.
According to the New York Post, Det. Inspector Daniel Connick said the teen was most likely too intoxicated to consent to sex and had a history of anxiety along with depression.

Before her death, the teen went out with a group of friends then went to another party when the local bar closed at midnight. After telling her friends about the assault, the hostel manager carried her to her room twice and was found unresponsive the following morning.
Her mother said in the following statement that her daughter was one of the happiest people and selfless when it came to others.
“She put everyone before herself. That’s why there’s been such a big tribute to her. She was absolutely amazing.”
