As we previously reported on Wednesday, rapper Pop Smoke was tragically killed at his Hollywood Hills home. At the time, reports stated it was a robbery gone wrong. However, new reports suggest that it may have been a targeted attack.

According to the updated story report by TMZ, sources who have seen the surveillance footage “from outside” the rapper’s home, where the shooting happened, claims that it appears to have been a “targeted” incident, not a robbery. The news site notes that it seemed like it might have been a robbery because Pop posted a photo earlier in the day of a bunch of gifts that had his home address on it. He also posted another pic hours before the shooting of himself and a friend in a car holding up a bunch of money.
However, the sources who have seen the surveillance video say the person inside the house — presumably the gunman — did not carry anything out. It was also said that given that he shot someone, it’s doubtful he would take the time to stuff Pop’s items in his pocket, TMZ reports.
Pop was just 20-years-old when he died. The young rapper was just making a name for himself after releasing his hit “Welcome to the Party.” He also appeared on Travis Scott’s latest project “JACKBOYS.” Pop’s mixtape charted #7 Tuesday on the Billboard 200.

Law enforcement source tells the news outlet that they are currently investigating the murder but, they have not arrested or named any suspects yet.
