Zohran Mamdani’s historic win in New York City’s mayoral election got one of the city’s loudest voices talking—50 Cent wasn’t here for it.
The Queens-bred mogul took to Instagram late last night with a message only he could deliver: “New York is over pack it up, let’s go!” 50 wrote. The post came just hours after Mamdani, the city’s first immigrant-born mayor, delivered his fiery victory speech that had social media buzzing.
In the same breath, 50, who’s previously shown public support for Donald Trump, doubled down with another post, writing, “THE MAN’S First job is Mayor MAMDANI run New York. … I need a drink!”

50 Cent Posts “RIP NYC” Image After Mamdani’s Win
If there’s one thing 50 Cent knows how to do, it’s make noise online. Not long after his first reaction, the rapper-turned-TV exec took things up another notch. He shared an image that many assumed was AI-generated — a gravestone with the words “RIP NYC” engraved across it.
The post didn’t come with a caption, but fans knew exactly what message 50 was sending. In another slide, he added a clip of Zohran Mamdani speaking about Trump during his acceptance speech, captioning it, “3 words: No funding coming! NYC finished.”
And while most of his posts stayed up long enough to trend, one didn’t make it through the night. In a since-deleted story, 50 responded to Mamdani’s song choice — Ja Rule’s 2004 hit “New York” — as he walked onto the stage to claim victory. The irony wasn’t lost on anyone.
“Of course he would walk out to that fool,” 50 wrote. “His plan doesn’t [affect] him. He ain’t getting no money.”
