An Alabama man was arrested Monday evening after authorities say an argument inside his home escalated into violence. According to KoloTV, deputies with the Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call reporting that a man was assaulting his wife during a domestic dispute.
When deputies arrived, they learned the suspect had allegedly attempted to strangle his wife during the argument. Authorities identified the suspect as Daniel Hernandez-Lopez. According to deputies, the couple’s 13-year-old son confronted Hernandez-Lopez following the altercation.
Teen Son Allegedly Intervened
Officials say Hernandez-Lopez allegedly charged at the teen and attempted to strike him with a bicycle. At that point, deputies said the teen punched Hernandez-Lopez multiple times in the face. Authorities believe the punches may have knocked him unconscious before deputies arrived on the scene.
Deputies noted that Hernandez-Lopez appeared to be highly intoxicated at the time of the incident. They also stated he may have been under the influence of narcotics.

- Domestic violence
- Strangulation
Hernandez-Lopez was booked into the Baldwin County Jail. The condition of the wife has not been detailed publicly. Authorities have not released additional information about potential injuries.
