103-Year-Old Woman Celebrates COVID-19 Recovery With Cold Beer

A 103-year-old Massachusetts woman is going viral over her celebrating a COVID-19 recovery with a nice, cold beer. The survivor, Jennie Stejna, came back from the brink of death after battling the coronavirus and decided she deserved some brew!

Her grandson, David Stejna, says, although she is wheelchair-bound and legally blind, she has a very sharp mind. He adds, “She’s feisty and tenacious. She is legendary in so many different ways. She speaks her mind and doesn’t put up with anything.” Stejna, who lives in the Life Care Center of Wilbraham, has been both the first person to contract the deadly virus and beat it.

Nearly three weeks before her recovery, she developed a fever and was moved into quarantine to fight the disease for about 20 days. As her condition worsened, her family said their goodbyes on May 3. A day later, she woke up proclaiming, “I’m not sick.” After she was cleared of corona on May 13, a nurse, who was told by family of her love for a cold beer, bought a six pack of brew, and she dove in.

The news even spawned a shout out by Bud Light on their Twitter!
