Deiondra Sanders and Jacquees recently revealed the gender of their baby in a YouTube video, but fans are just noticing that the upcoming parents had discussion about the child’s last name.
The couple, surrounded by loved ones, organized a gathering where attendees dressed in blue or pink to predict the baby’s gender. They later shared on Instagram that they are expecting a baby boy. Deiondra, daughter of Deion Sanders, shared exclusive footage on her YouTube channel, disclosing that the Cash Money artist will be responsible for selecting the baby’s name.
“It’s only one name that he did mention that I actually really like, and it’s unisex,” she said in her vlog. “I said I was going to wait until I know the gender to start picking names. But the one that he did mention—I actually really like that.” With that responsibility it seemed like Jacquees knew the baby would have his last name, but during the the Vlog Deiondra broke the news to him that the baby will keep her last name because they’re not married.
The singer didn’t push back to her decision it seemed as if he understood where she was coming and they quickly changed topics.
Fans were shocked to see that her father, Coach Prime wasn’t able to make the reveal but he did send out a sweet message on his X account. “Congratulation on the Little Engine [fire emojis]” he wrote.
As we previously shared, the former NFL player expressed his emotions about becoming a grandfather in an interview with PEOPLE last month.
“I haven’t digested that whole thing yet,” he said while adding that “not one thing” excites him about being someone’s grandpa. “I’m proud of my baby that she’s at least waited until her thirties to give me this gift of life. I’m happy about that, but I want to make sure she’s straight emotionally and psychologically as well.”

In March, Deiondra revealed her pregnancy, stating that it was not anticipated and she is not having the baby to maintain a relationship, but rather to defy the expectations that she would not be able to.
“I’m having my baby for the 4 myomectomy surgeries I have had. I am having my baby for all the years I stayed on birth control even though it gave me breast tumors,” she wrote in a lengthy post. “I’m having my baby for all the Doctors that told me I wouldn’t make it out the first trimester. I’m having a baby for the 7 current fibroids that surrounds my uterus to this day. I’m having a baby for all the high risk moms that was scared everyday thinking they would miscarry.”
