The music world has lost another star. Earlier this morning rumors about rapper Lil Keed began circulating online. Sadly, Keed’s brother, Lil Gotit, confirmed the news of his passing on Instagram at around 1:30 a.m. “Can’t believe I seemed u die, today bro, I did all my cries I know what u want me to do and that’s go hard for Mama Daddy Our Brothers Naychur and Whiteboy #ImaHoldthisShitDown,” Gotit wrote in an Instagram post of a photo featuring himself and Keed.

The Atlanta entertainer, whose real name is Raqhid Render, was part of the YSL collective under Young Thug. On his last album Trapped on Cleveland 3 in 2020, he collaborated with other big stars including Travis Scott, Chris Brown as well as Young Thug. Keed leaves behind his daughter Naychur. He was only 24 years old.

As many people are waking up to the sad news, his close friends and heartbroken fans are paying tribute to him online. As we previously reported, rapper Young Thig and Gunna were arrested on multiple charges. Thug has been accused of being the co-founder of YSL, which prosecutors claims is a violent street gang that committed multiple murders, shootings, and carjackings over roughly a decade and promoted its activities in songs and on social media. The sprawling indictment also charges rapper Gunna and 26 others with racketeering.

The 88-page indictment filed Monday in Georgia’s Fulton county quotes multiple music videos as evidence and accuses alleged gang members of targeting other high-profile rap artists. The two are currently locked up and have been denied bond. Due to their current circumstance, it is unclear if they are aware of the passing of Lil Keed.

Hollywood Unlocked would like to send our deepest condolences to Keed’s family during this difficult time. We will continue to keep readers updated as this story develops.
