YouTube Suspends Ads On Shane Dawson’s Channels Following Racist & Pedophilic Videos

Following resurfaced racist and pedohpilic videos, YouTube has suspended ads running on all three of Shane Dawson‘s channels: Shane (22.5M subscribers); Shane Dawson TV, (8.4M); and Shane Glossin (3.7M).

In addition to confessing to using blackface “a lot” in older videos, Dawson most recently came under fire for sexualizing an 11-year-old Willow Smith, causing her mother and brother, Jada Pinkett Smith and Jaden Smith, to publicly call him out on Twitter.

Subsequent to his controversial actions, YouTube has suspended monetization on his accounts indefinitely; however, The Verge confirmed it’s not permanent. Prior to YouTube’s response, Dawson issued an apology stating, “I don’t even fully know how to apologize because it seems like something that is irredeemable. It’s something that I shouldn’t be able to get out of — I should lose everything for that. A lot of that is stuff you will probably never forgive me for, and you may not have known about those old videos, I 100 percent understand.”

Dawson’s apology arrives along with fellow creators Jenna Marbles and Liza Koshy.
