According to 11Alive, Atlanta rapper Young Thug has been released from the hospital after it was first reported that his attorney was “concerned for his wellbeing,” after he missed court and was hospitalized. Vulture also shared their own update and said that the rapper’s attorney, Keith Adams, told them he is “feeling fine.”
Adams continued, “Jeffery was not feeling well earlier, and the sheriff’s office had him seen by medical personnel to ensure that he was okay,” he said. “We expect to be back in court tomorrow as we continue to fight these charges and work toward getting him home.”
Young Thug Released From Hospital And ‘Feeling Fine’ After He Missed Court, Leaving His Attorney ‘Concerned For His Wellbeing’
As mentioned, court proceedings on Thursday (May 11), had to be paused after Young Thug, real name Jeffery Williams, missed court after he had “taken ill” and was taken to a hospital ahead of his latest hearing in his YSL (Young Slime Life) RICO case.
After Thug was transferred to a medical facility, his attorney, Keith Adams, confirmed the news just before their scheduled court appearance; however, he did not have any exact details to share regarding his client’s condition, or nature of his illness.
Adams said that he hadn’t spoken with his client ahead of the court proceedings, and that he had just learned about the hospitalization at 1 p.m. EST.
At the time, Adams told Judge Ural Glanville, “I know he’s had some difficulty of a similar sort at the Cobb County jail a few months ago, and so I’m obviously concerned about his wellbeing. My understanding is when he went to go be seen by a doctor, he was OK, he was alert. I don’t have any reason to believe he is in any serious condition. He just wasn’t feeling well.”
Adams also asked the judge if he would ask the Fulton County Sheriff’s Department to allow him to see his client, as he had previously tried, but was denied. The judge obliged and said he would reach out after proceedings.
Adams also told the Atlanta Journal-Constitution that the defense was given the option of continuing without Thug, but he decided to postpone the proceedings until his client was healthy enough and able to appear in court.
Adams said, “We did not waive his presence. We could have gone forward if we waived his presence, but we did not do that. It’s never, in my opinion, in his best interest to have anything occur without him being there.”
Since the initial concerns for his wellbeing, 11Alive and Vulture both updated that Thug was released from the hospital and “feeling fine,” and that he is expected to be back in court on Friday morning (May 12) to continue with jury selection in his YSL RICO case.
