OMG! A Chicago man is facing a slew of felony charges after robbing a man at gunpoint, then staying at the crime scene to eat his victim’s fried chicken.
Wow! Chicago Man Faces Felony Charges After Robbing Man At Gunpoint & Staying At Crime Scene To Eat Victim’s Fried Chicken
According to police officials in Cook County, the man, identified as 20 year old James Taylor, is being accused of robbing a 35 year old man in front of his home in the 4500 block of South Calumet around 1:30 a.m. on Saturday (February 11).
Cook County police officers say they arrived to the crime scene within minutes of the incident, where the found James, still there, scarfing down the victim’s delicious takeout fried chicken.
According to a prosecutor named Kenneth Flesch, the claimed that Taylor stopped him on the street to ask for a light, but the he told Taylor that he did not have one and continued to head home.
However, seconds later, Taylor tapped him on the shoulder, and when he turned around, Taylor had a pistol pointed in his face. At the point, the victim proceed to hand Taylor his keys, $2 in cash, a debit card, and his fried chicken.
Per Flesch, Taylor then climbed into the victim’s car, and began eating the fried chicken. During this time, the victim called the police, who arrived just a few minutes later.
Taylor has since been charged with armed robbery with a firearm, aggravated unlawful use of a weapon, aggravated possession of a stolen motor vehicle, and illegal possession of a debit card.
Additionally, a judge has ordered Taylor to pay a $15,000 bail deposit to go home on electronic monitoring. He’s also facing a minimum sentence of 21 years in prison if convicted on the armed robbery charge. Taylor has no criminal background.
