A Detroit woman is speaking out after she was stabbed and held hostage by a man she met on Facebook Dating. According to WXYZ, 27-year-old Jakayla Archie says her casual relationship turned violent in January. What began as conversations through Facebook Dating ended with her fighting for her life.

Archie said she matched with 31-year-old Donneal Darren Sandridge-Jones weeks before the attack. At first, everything appeared normal. They talked during the holidays. They met in person. They watched movies at his house. They spent time together casually. However, things shifted during their last encounter. She said he became irritated. Then he became aggressive. What happened next nearly cost her life.

“That’s when he ran, and he went to get the knife, and he stabbed me in my throat, and he cut me, and then he told me, ‘b****, I’ll kill you,'” she explained to the outlet.

Details of the Detroit Attack: Stabbing, Forced Driving, and Alleged Imprisonment

The Wayne County Prosecutor’s Office confirmed that Archie was stabbed multiple times. According to their statement, the man allegedly forced her to drive him around the neighborhood after the stabbing. Prosecutors say he also broke the windows in her car. Then he reportedly ordered her to remain inside his home.

Eventually, Archie found a moment to escape. She called 911. That decision likely saved her life.

Authorities arrested Sandridge-Jones on January 31. He now faces multiple charges, including:

  • Intent to murder
  • Unlawful imprisonment
  • Malicious destruction of property

He remains at the Wayne County Jail awaiting further proceedings.

Moreover, prosecutors allege that he was involved in two separate domestic violence incidents involving women he was dating at the time. Those alleged incidents also occurred inside his home.
