Cook County prosecutors reported 23-year-old Yaazmina Payton was arrested at the O’Hare International Airport early Sunday morning after she boarded the plane. A witness said they saw the young woman go under the ropes and alerted a ticket agent at Terminal 3. After she was approached by security, Payton was unable to provide a boarding pass for the flight and “arrested without incident.”
The young woman informed police that she managed to infiltrate another security gate while TSA agents were distracted during an interview. During a court hearing on Monday, Payton’s appointed attorney stated she has PTSD and an anxiety disorder.

She was released on a $500 bail but was banned from entering the airport. It was also reported that Payton was “successfully screened” by TSA agents before she attempted to enter the Los Angeles-bound flight. However, it will take 90 days for the investigation to be completed by the agency.
American Airlines said in a statement that “The flight departed to LAX after law enforcement searched and cleared the aircraft for departure.”
