The Daily Mail reports the 29-year-old victim named Regis Korinchinski-Paquet was allegedly shoved off the balcony by police officers after they responded to a call about a domestic incident. Her cousin uploaded a video of the aftermath under his Instagram handle Rocowrld and showed Korinchinski-Paquet’s body under an orange tarp on the complex’s grassy area away from the building.

Her mother, Claudette Clinton, accused the officers of pushing her daughter from the high rise balcony and said ‘The police killed my daughter, came in my apartment and shoved her off the balcony and told CP24 that it was a suicide. But the police killed her.’

According to the family, there was a lack of news coverage as Regis’ laid on the ground for more than an hour. The case is being handled by the Special Investigations Unit since Toronto Police refuse to release a statement.

‘The SIU is aware of allegations made by certain family members of the deceased and will be looking to speak to anyone with information about these allegations. As the investigation is in the early stages, it would be inappropriate for the SIU to make any further comment at this time with respect to what transpired.’
