UPDATE: Woman Killed Inside Capitol Identified As 14-Year Air Force Veteran From San Diego
San Diego news outlet KUSI reports that the woman killed inside the U.S. Capitol building earlier this afternoon after Trump supporters stormed the premises has been identified as Ashli Babbitt, a 14-year Air Force Veteran.
The news outlet, who spoke with Babbit’s husband, updates that she served four tours with the US Air Force, and “was a high level security official throughout her time in service.” Babbit’s husband says she was a strong supporter of President Donald Trump, and “a great patriot to all who knew her.” The Metropolitan Police Department says an investigation into her death is currently underway.

As we reported earlier, a viral clip surface of the aftermath of the shooting and law enforcement officials later updated that Babbit died of her injuries sustained. A witness told BuzzFeed News that Babbit did not follow police orders after entering the building and was subsequently shot.
