A tragic incident happened overnight: A young woman plunged to her death from the roof of a Times Square hotel on Tuesday night and now police are investigating.

Cops said there was a dispute at the hotel before the woman’s death. It was said the unidentified woman’s body landed on a two-story scaffolding below the OYO Times Square hotel on 47th Street. She was pronounced dead at the scene around 10:30 p.m., according to the NYPD.

As of right now, police are investigating whether the woman fell or jumped from the roof. The man has also been brought to Bellevue Hospital for an evaluation. However, it’s unclear if he’s facing any charges.

Authorities spent early Wednesday morning talking to hotel guests and staff, and grabbing surveillance video that may explain what happened. The guest spoke with ABC News and said they were initially confused to see officers arrive and were ultimately shocked to hear what had happened.

“We were on our way back from a comedy show, we walk up on the street. Kind of don’t know what’s going on, they’re telling us to get back. They let us into an adjacent hotel, then they started letting people in at a time,” hotel guest Tyler Cerajewski said.

This news comes months after the shocking death of beauty Queen and attorney Cheslie Kryst who tragically died by suicide last year.

As we previously reported, police said her body was found on a New York City street and appeared to have fallen from an elevated position. They added at the time that Kryst’s death was most likely the result of suicide.
Her family previously said in a statement: “In devastation and great sorrow, we share the passing of our beloved Cheslie. Her great light was one that inspired others around the world with her beauty and strength.”

The mother of former Miss USA Cheslie Kryst, revealed in an interview with the Red Table Talk, that she had attempted to take her own life before and that she learned of her daughter’s death while on a plane to New York to be by her side.

“When I finally made it home and got to my husband, who was trying to understand what I was saying. So that was when we reached out to the police, like: ‘We got this message. Get a paramedic there,'” April Simpkins said. “So immediately I’m thinking, OK, this must be the first attempt. Let’s get on a plane, get up there, meet her at the hospital. Let’s see what we can do,” she continued. “We’re texting the family. We don’t live in New York. We made it to the airport. We got on the plane, which is now taxiing, when the police confirmed that she was no longer with us,” Simpkins said.

Cheslie Kryst was just 30 years old.
