A Texas woman says she found $21,000 in a bathroom at a Subway restaurant last week.

Teresa Acosta was visiting her daughter at work when she found the large sum of money inside a railing near the toilet at the Iowa Park location. After Acosta found the money, she immediately contacted the police and managed to return it to the original owner. According to News Channel 6, the man was on his way back to the restaurant to pick up his money and he gave Acosta $500 for her good deed.
“I wasn’t expecting a reward but I’m very appreciative. I was raised to be honest and do the right thing, and I think I did the right thing by turning the money in and I can pay my bills with this extra money that he gave me.”

Iowa Park police officers questioned the man about the money and he explained to them that he was purchasing a brand new car with the cash. They allowed him to keep the cash after providing proof that the money was his.
